     Big Island on the coast of the state of RJ is a paradise on earth and boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. Paddling we have the time and the possibility of knowing all the natural beauties that will appear in the way. For those who enjoy scuba diving there are several options for wrecks.

     Paddles will be relatively short so we can have more time at our stops. And there will be many attractions, deserted beaches and among the most beautiful in Brazil, waterfalls, the ruins of the prison at Dois Rios beach, Acaiá under water cave, the bays of Blue Lagoon, Green Lagoon and Star among many others attractions. And after the turn around the island we have another three days to rest and to know the surroundings of the village of Abraão.

  

Expedition Itinerary:

  

• DAY 01: ARRIVE GRU/BR.

06:00 – Arrival in Guarulhos Airport/BRAZIL.

09:00 – Departure for Angra dos Reis/RJ.

14:30 – Expected Arrival in Angra dos Reis.

15:00 – Boat trip to Abraão Village on Ilha Grande.

16:00 – Arrival in Lonier Hotel.

  

• DAY 02: PALMAS BAY.

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Our first day begins with the paddling (5,0 nautical miles) from Abraão’s Village to Pouso beach, passing through Brava, Grande de Palmas and Mangue beaches.

10:30 – Arrival in Pouso beach.

11:00 – Start of the hiking to the Lopes Mendes and Santo Antonio beaches.

16:00 – Return to Palmas beach.

  

• DAY 03: LOPES MENDES BEACH.

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – We will paddle (7,5 nautical miles) to the beach of Lopes Mendes passing through some deserted beaches like Itaoca and Juruba. In the Castelhanos beach we leave the canoes and walk (1,0 mile) through one trail until the Castelhanos lighthouse. After we return to Castelhanos beach to take the canoe and follow to the Lopes Mendes beach.

16:00 – Arrival in Lopes Mendes beach. Here we leave the canoes and comeback walking to the Pouso beach.

  

• DAY 04: DOIS RIOS and CACHADAÇO BEACHES.

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Start of the walking to Lopes Mendes beach to take the canoes and paddling (3,5 na. miles) to the beach of Dois Rios, passing through the Cachadaço beach and the ship wreck between the islands in front side Dois Rios beach. We will lunch in Cachadaço Village and in the afternoon return to the Lopes Mendes beach.

16:00 – Expected arrival in Lopes Mendes beach. And walk to Pouso beach.

  

• DAY 05: PARNAIOCA BEACH.

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Start of the walking to Lopes Mendes beach to take the canoes and paddling (8,5 na. miles) to the beach of Parnaióca.

12:00 – Expected arrival in Parnaioca beach. In Parnaioca beach have one ship wreck on the coast.

  

• DAY 06: AVENTUREIRO BEACH.

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Start of the paddling (4,5 na. miles) to the beach of Aventureiro, passing through the Leste and Sul beaches, where we will stop for a bath.

14:00 – Expected arrival in Aventureiro beach.

  

• DAY 07: ARAÇATIBA BEACH.

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Start the paddling (11 na. miles) to Araçatiba beach, passing through the Meros beach and the under cave of Acaia.

16:00 – Arrival in Araçatiba beach.

  

• DAY 08: MATARIZ BEACH.

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Start the paddling (5,5 na. miles) to Matariz beach, passing through the natural aquarium of Green Lagoon.

• DAY 09: ABRAÃO VILLAGE.

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Start our last paddling day (10 na. miles) to Abraão Village, passing through some deserted beach and another natural aquarium, the Blue Lagoon. 

16:00 – Arrival in Lonier Hotel at Abraão Village.

20:00 – Free night.

  

• DAY 10: ABRAÃO VILLAGE.

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Free day: surroundings of Abraão village and the former aqueduct.

  

• DAY 11: ABRAÃO VILLAGE.

08:00 – Breakfast.

09:00 – Free day: Optional hiking to Parrot peak.

20:00 – Farewell Dinner at LONIER GAROUPA RESTAURANT.

  

• DAY 12: ANGRA DOS REIS/RJ – DEPARTURE GRU.

09:00 – Breakfast and free morning.

11:00 – Leaving the hotel to the Guarulhos Airport.

WHAT'S INCLUDED: ground and boat transportation, guide, insurance, canoes or kayaks, lifeguard jacket, paddles, camping tends, 12 lodging with breakfast with eight in camping and four in LONIER HOTEL, and all daily actives. Meals and beverage are not included except the Farewell dinner. Price per person in double room.

 

WHAT'S TO BRING: waterproof bag of 40 Liters per person, sleeping bag, flashlight, camera, paddling clothes, dry clothes, mask and snorkel, fin, sunscreen, repellent and cap.
