GOLDEN COAST EXPEDITION

Our start point is the city of Paraty/RJ where the mountains covered by the Atlantic forest meet the sea, and form the only tropical fjord of the World. The city maintains constructions of the colonial period and was very important for being the end of the “Royal Road”, through which the gold and diamond extracted in Minas Gerais came to be dispatched by ship to Portugal. We will also meet an artisan sugar cane mill that produces sugar cane rum with one water wheel.

And paddling we will get to know the Joatinga Cape that is famous among the sailors for its natural beauties, deserted beaches, waterfalls and the only world’s tropical Fjord, the Mamanguá Bay. The expedition begins at Trindade Beach, along the coast to the Mamanguá Bay and then to Paraty. We will paddle on average between 7 and 10 nautical miles per day; we will stay two days in Mamanguá Bay and three days in Paraty.

The lodgings will be in lodges, camping and in a Inn in the Mamanguá bay and a Inn of charm at Paraty downtown.
